It's Thursday, #getmessyartjournal Day !

Line, Dot, Electric Shock

Collage, Gouache and Felt Tip.
One of my favourite things is to create like this - it looks like a mess but is actually beautiful and considered. The more you look, the more you see. ... ..
Or so I think!

Watercolour World

Oh washi tape cats, will I ever grow tired of you? The watercolours on this page are mixed with ink and it gives that kind of silky, fabric appearance. Of course, the washi tape cats are my favourite part.. !

Mary Kate in Toon Land

Yup, I just referenced Roger Rabbit. This is an iconic image to me. I remember it being on mine and my roomates bedroom walls whilst we were in Uni and the Olsen Twins were just everything. I added a little tea stain to the background and then made this little scene with felt tip and collaged images from the magazines around me in about 5 minutes. Its a new thing for me.. this kind of cartoonish crossover but I think its fun, playful and fresh !

Live Fast

This page I spray painted a while ago - I have a long standing affair with spray paint and I've been spray painting just about everything in sight recently. The white square is actually an envelope I was using to test out colour combinations but I liked the rushed, blurred effect that was on it so felt it deserved to be kept and included in this sketchbook!

So thats another week of #getmessyartjournal done and its probably the first week since I started that I've felt a little meh. Lets blame the weather. And the cold. And the dark. Wahh.
To cheer myself up this Autumn (I am a summer baby through and through) I am taking part in the FMS Photo a Day challenge - one photo, every day, alphabetically. So far it is only up to B but I'm looking forward to it becoming my next 100 happy days and easing me into the winter.

Please check out my fellow Get Messy participants, they are all amazing, creative and wonderful! :)

Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practise our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.
